Integrating AI into Clinical Medicine

The Symposium on Artificial Intelligence for Learning Health Systems (SAIL) is an annual international conference exploring the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) techniques into clinical medicine. SAIL provides a forum for clinicians, clinical informaticians and AI researchers to discuss approaches—and challenges to using these approaches—in the healthcare domain.

SAIL will host its fourth in-person conference May 6–9, 2025, again in Puerto Rico. 

In order to make SAIL a dynamic, interactive meeting and invite productive discussions, by design our symposium is limited to 150 in-person attendees who are directly involved in improving the implementation of AI in healthcare. If you are interested in attending SAIL, we encourage you to submit an abstract, which we announce annually in November and accept in January.

SAIL 2024

We returned to the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve, Río Grande, Puerto Rico on May 7–10 for SAIL 2024, our third live event. Keynote videos are posted on the SAIL website.

SAIL 2023

SAIL 2020

Due to COVID-19, the inaugural event planned for Spring 2020 was instead a half-day virtual pre-symposium in the Fall (video below).
