Alberto Ardura-Fabregat, PhD, MBI
After graduating from medical school at the University of Navarra in Spain, Alberto did his PhD in Neuroimmunology under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Marco Prinz, at the University of Freiburg, Germany. During his PhD he studied the role of microglia in the development of Alzheimer's disease. He plans to continue researching the mechanisms behind the immune system and how that leads to neurodegenerative diseases such as multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Alzheimer's disease.
His research interests include neurodegenerative diseases, innate immune system, transcriptomics, image analysis, machine learning.
