Anran Tang, MBI
Anran Tang attended Pomona College where she focused on computational studies of the molecular basis of life. "My time working at three bioinformatics labs expanded my knowledge in methods that transform sequencing data into patterns. During my senior year, I worked to improve the Statistical Coupling Analysis method, which identifies networks of residues through covariance calculations in a protein multiple sequence alignment. During my time at Harvard MBI, I hope to gain skills in data visualization and the development of novel techniques for correlating clinical and genomic data. After completing the program, I intend to pursue a PhD in biomedical informatics/computational biomedicine."
