Catherine joined DBMI after serving as a senior grants and contracts administrator for The University of Chicago where she provided pre- and post-award support for faculty, researchers, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students, and also served as the financial administrator for a center, two institutes, and multiple departments at UChicago. Catherine has prepared proposals and administered complex awards for projects that exceeded $10,000,000 per year for sponsors including ARO, DARPA, Dept. of Defense, Dept. of Energy, NASA, NIH, NNSA, NSA, NSF, ONR, and others.
Catherine also has governmental and industry audit experience in the systematic examination and evaluation of operational and financial processes, results, and controls. This experience has increased her interest in providing proper support for research endeavors, and she enjoys finding ways to improve support systems.
