Chang is a research fellow in Dr. Mark Fleming's lab at Boston Children's Hospital. She conducted her doctoral work using stable iron isotopes to study iron metabolism and placental iron transfer in pregnant women at Cornell University under the mentorship of Dr. Kimberly O'Brien. Since joining BCH, she has been using mouse models to study the cellular mechanism of nutrient transfer across the placenta and how this process affects maternal and neonatal health. Her research interests include placenta physiology, as well as maternal and child nutrition.
