Eric Severson, MD, PhD, MMSc
Eric Severson is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Brigham and Woman's Hospital. His interest is in using the increasing amounts of experimental data that is publicly available to better understand how transcription is regulated in hematopoietic malignancies. Specific mechanisms of interest include dysregulated epigentic modifications, cryptic chromosomal translocations, and the role of specific mutated transcription factors. Severson's prior experience as both a hematopathologist and a cell biologist has exposed him to the ever increasing tide of information, both clinical and experimental in nature, that needs analyzing. "Using computational tools from the informatics program, I plan to integrate existing data sets to better design further experiments and find novel associations in existing data. In the future, I hope to sit at the nexus of pathology, cell biology, and informatics - and use that novel viewpoint for insight into the pathogenesis of lymphoma."
