Hu Jin, PhD

Research Fellow in Biomedical Informatics
Mentor: Peter Park, PhD

Hu Jin received his PhD in Physics in 2018, under the supervision of Professor Jun S. Song in the Department of Physics and Center for the Physics of Living Cells at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. During his doctoral training, Jin has conducted both computational physics research modeling chromatin structure and bioinformatics research studying stem cell and cancer biology. His PhD thesis focused on developing quantitative computational methods for unraveling the principles guiding nucleosome positioning. In the Park Lab, he is working on development and application of computational methods for integration of three-dimensional chromosomal interaction data with DNA mutation data.
