Joshua Mandel, MD
Josh Mandel is a physician and software developer working to fuel an API-driven ecosystem around clinical data, knowledge, and workflow. He currently serves as Chief Architect at Microsoft Healthcare as well as Project Lead for the Sync for Science program. After earning an S.B. in computer science and electrical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an M.D. from the Tufts University School of Medicine, Josh joined the research faculty at Harvard Medical School and Children's Hospital Boston Computational Health Informatics Program, where he served as lead architect for SMART Health IT and as the community lead for the national Blue Button REST API. He is currently a member of the national Health IT Standards Committee and has a special interest in tools and interfaces that support software developers who are new to the health domain.
