Rumana Rashid, MBI
Rumana Rashid majored in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Virginia, where she researched targeted cancer drug delivery methods in John Herr, PhD's lab. Since then, she has been working in Sandro Santagata, MD/PhD's lab in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women's Hospital, where she utilizes various imaging techniques to characterize brain tumors. Rashid is interested in brain tumors, imaging, and integrating genomic and spatial proteomic data on a single cell basis in order to develop more personalized cancer therapies. "The Master of Biomedical Informatics program at Harvard Medical School is the ideal training program to gain skills in leveraging high-throughput data to explore these areas." After completing the program, she hopes to earn an MD/PhD and pursue a career as a physician-scientist.
