Xi (Sam) Wang, SM
Master of Biomedical Informatics, Class of 2024
Sam received his bachelor of science from UC San Diego in Bioengineering: Bioinformatics with a concentration in Computer Science. At UCSD, Sam worked on various biomechanics programs at the Cartilage Tissue Engineering Lab with Dr. Robert L. Sah. He was also an undergraduate student at the Alexandrov Lab with Dr. Ludmil B. Alexandrov where he developed and benchmarked a state-of-the-art Mutational Signature Assignment tool. Sam plans on going to medical school after completing the MBI program.
His research interests include the use of computer science and the power of genome to target medical challenges.
