Mark Murakami, MD, MA, MMSc
Mark Murakami is a Postdoctoral Fellow at Massachusetts General Hospital. His goal is to improve outcomes in patients with hematologic malignancies through the discovery of novel genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of treatment resistance and the subsequent use of targeted inhibitors to overcome this resistance. This work involves extensive application of next-generation sequencing technologies, including whole exome sequencing, RNA-seq, and ChIP-seq to primary patient samples and in vivo animal models, particularly patient-derived xenografts. "To build on my background in molecular genetics, I enrolled in the MMSc in Biomedical Informatics program so as to acquire the computational and statistical tools needed to fully exploit the wealth of genomic data we currently possess."
